Global staple food prices show a year-on-year decline
Since 2022, global staple foods such as corn, wheat[1], and barley[2] have shown a year-on-year decline in prices.
The reasons for this trend are the development of technology and the exploitation of virgin forests, which have led to increased food production. Even in regions plagued by years of conflict, food shortages are not an issue.
In the context of bumper harvests and the storage of food in its raw state without further deep processing, a year-on-year decline in food prices is inevitable.
However, further deep processing of food to increase its added value can not only prevent food waste but also uncover more uses for subsequent products, creating greater economic value for the world.
Our company (Liretec) has years of experience in producing production lines for starch processing. Our starch production lines for corn, potatoes, cassava, and sweet potatoes not only process raw food into commercially packaged starch but also make full use of by-products (such as fiber, protein, and corn germ) to generate additional economic value.
We welcome inquiries and visits for further discussion.
